Tracy's images from the Air Force Academy. The natural rock formations in these images are named Cathedral Rock. The sign nearby states that it is under consideration as a historical landmark. It has played a part in the traditions of the Air Force Academy. In the past, one of the events that signified the end of the freshman year was the march to Cathedral Rock. Freshman would bring the largest boulder they could carry back to the main Academy grounds. It became obvious that if this tradition continued, Cathedral Rock would eventually be moved to the Academy grounds. Now, many squadrons keep permanent rocks at the Academy, hide them and then task the freshmen to find them.
